The National Science Foundation’s Green Bank Observatory (GBO) and National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO), and Raytheon Intelligence & Space conducted a test in November to prove that a new radio telescope system can capture high-resolution images in near-Earth space.

The radar image of the region where Apollo 15 landed in 1971. The snake-like feature is Hadley Rille, a remnant of ancient volcanic activity, probably a collapsed lava tube.

The crater at top, alongside the rille, is called Hadley C and is about 6 kilometers in diameter.

This image shows objects as small as 5 meters across.

“The planned system will be a leap forward in radar science, allowing access to never before seen features of the Solar System from right here on Earth,” said Karen O’Neil, the Green Bank Observatory site director.

Due to COVID-19, families are fleeing city homes and abandoning airplane travel for the great American RV walkabout.

Kids are in school virtually. Mom’s as likely to be earning the family keep via a laptop as dad.

Campgrounds are doing record business, and normally empty Bureau of Land Management pull-off areas are now chock full of  camper vans and pull-behind RVs.

Doctors at Queen’s Medical Centre at Nottingham University Hospital held the 19-year-old man at the intensive are unit for about a day before sending him home, according to MEDizzy.

But the patient left with several fewer teeth than he came in with, as the shattered bone was deemed irreparable.

Thankfully, a CT scan looking for head trauma and other broken bones revealed that the worst of the injury was limited to the patient’s jaw.

The report was published last week in the journal BMJ Case Reports. 

He had several burns and cuts in and around his mouth as well.

E-cigarettes contain lithium ion batteries. If the battery fails it can be an extra hazard in your mouth.
